Alice Carpenter Bentley, BC-LPC, CPCS

Nationally Board Certified Psychotherapist -

Individual and Couples Counseling, Counseling Supervisor

I am an experienced therapist located in Alpharetta, close to Roswell and Milton offering individual psychotherapy, couples, marriage & pre-marital counseling and counseling supervision. I have a primarily psychoanalytic orientation, although I use many other methods and techniques as appropriate. I work with family of origin issues, adult children of narcissistic and borderline parents, trauma issues including sexual, emotional and/or physical abuse, depression and anxiety, adjustment issues, PTSD, addiction and relapse issues, and other personality disorders. I treat most demographics, except for very young children and geriatric (over 65), which I am glad to refer to one of the specialists I work with. I feel it is an honor to assist you in becoming the best YOU that you can be. I welcome the chance to talk to you about your goals.

I received my Master's Degree in 2001 from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology (now Argosy). I got my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with a minor in Management from Georgia State University, graduating Cum Laude. I also studied psychology at the University of Tennessee where I was on the Dean's List.

I am a Trauma Certified Specialist in the state of GA (TREM), Prolonged Exposure Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy certified (VA trained), a STAR Behavioral Health provider (civilian provider for military mental health services), an Assessment Specialist, Addiction Specialist, Telemental Health Specialist and a Certified HIV-EIS counseling provider in addition to hundreds of hours of post-graduate education in other counseling areas. I am also a counseling supervisor. I have worked with patients in prisons, rehabs, ERs, doctor's offices and their homes. Most recently, I was on staff at Emory Healthcare.

I offer in-office appointments or On-Site Concierge Services in addition to on-line video therapy for those who either need a greater level of privacy or cannot get to the office (traveling, etc.).

LPCs cannot prescribe medications, however I can work with your existing prescribing doctor or recommend a psychiatrist.
